Where the bus goes
Where the bus goes is the one question no venue on this waterfront answers on its own website. Thirty-eight pages across all four venue sites and seven intake forms were read on 20 August 2026, and the only occurrence of the word “bus” in any of them was a line about scholarships. So this section publishes the few arrival facts a venue has actually put in writing, says Not Published everywhere else in those words, and names the desk to ask. Nothing here is permission to park: no venue has stated where a school bus may stand, and an absence of a published prohibition is not the same as being told yes.

- LAMI boards from W 6th St and Harbor Blvd, off the West Harbor Promenade just south of the LA Maritime Museum — a different place from its Berth 73 headquarters. Its own boarding page names the Museum Loop for drop-offs, with public restrooms on the north side of that loop. It is the only one of the four venues that names a drop-off point at all.

- Street parking around the Museum Loop is limited. The lot beside the Maritime Museum is small and paid, and the gravel lot closest to the dock is paid by the QR code posted there. No bus rate and no bus-sized space is stated for any of them.

LAMI’s own boarding and parking page, and its downloadable dock map, which labels the loop “DROP OFF LOOP, RESTROOMS & LIMITED STREET PARKING”. LAMI’s own advice on that page is to leave extra time to park and reach the dock. It states no vehicle length, which is why the 40-foot question stays open. Roadworks across the pilot year
San Pedro is a construction site for the whole of the 2026-27 school year, and roadwork guidance that has gone stale is worse than none — the Los Angeles Maritime Institute’s own boarding page still carries a ramp advisory that expired around December 2025. So every advisory below carries the end date its own source states, and where a source publishes none this page says Not Published instead of picking one. All three were read on 20 August 2026; check the source before you plan a route around one.

- SR 47 northbound ramps at Harbor Boulevard are closed — The Port of Los Angeles interchange project page, which states “The northbound SR 47 on-ramp and northbound SR 47 off-ramp at Harbor Blvd. will be closed through Oct. 31, 2026” and publishes Detour A word for word. The Port does not state that Detour A is an instruction for buses. The project’s own estimated completion is December 2026, so the advisory set will change before then. - The Vincent Thomas Bridge closes completely — Caltrans District 7 states the full closure is “scheduled for November 1, 2026” and the Port of Los Angeles states “late 2026”, for sixteen months; both say the schedule may change. No detour has been published for the full closure — the routing Caltrans has published applies to the earlier night-time lane closures, not to this — so the end date and the detour are both Not Published.
